On November 27th and 28th 2012 the GSMA opened the doors to its first Connected Women event in Brussels. Hosted by the GSMA’s own Anne Bouverot, Director General and Member of the Board, this was the first event dedicated to supporting the growth of influential women in an industry that
has revolutionised the lives of billions of people.
The event saw some of the industry’s most successful women and men champion the initiative to attract more female talent to the mobile industry and communicate the challenges and rewards, barriers, best practices, pitfalls and pinnacles. The impressive programme aimed to:
- Ignite global interest in the cause
- Inspire the industry to take positive action
- Catalyse those who can into acting to encourage others
- Create momentum to increase the number of women working in and with mobile
- Communicate what is already happening and discuss the challenges ahead
- Cement commitment to tackling these challenges
